🚶‍♂️🇨🇦 The Walker Runner is Heading to the World Transplant Games! 🇨🇦🚶‍♂️

It’s official! Bob Hardy, The Walker Runner, will proudly represent Canada at the 2025 World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany! With 60 countries and 2,000 athletes, this event is a celebration of resilience, recovery, and pushing boundaries.
Bob will be competing in two events:
🏃‍♂️ Thursday, August 22nd – 100-meter sprint
🚶‍♂️ Friday, August 23rd – 5-km race walk
Training Begins NOW! 💪
Bob is back at Tim Hortons Dome preparing for both the 100-meter sprint and 5-km race walk—a familiar training ground where he prepped for his first full 42.2-km Ottawa Marathon in 2016.
🔹 February 7th - First Tim Hortons Dome Training Session for 2025:
✅ Total distance: 5-km
✅ Zone 1 (Km 1): Slow warm-up—because at almost 75, that’s a must!
✅ Zone 2 (Km 2-3): Comfortable pace (~7 kph)
✅ Zone 3 (Km 4): Fast-paced (~8 kph+)
✅ Zone 3 (Km 5): 50% sprinting, 50% race walking
The smooth, indoor track provides a controlled environment—no potholes, no sidewalks, no unexpected crashes—perfect for refining technique and maximizing performance.
Bob’s journey is proof that getting older means going faster and that with determination, recovery, and the right training, anything is possible. Stay tuned for updates on his road to the Games! 🚀💨
