September Race Debrief for The Walker Runner

Bob Hardy has had an eventful September with two significant races under his belt!
Terry Fox Wobbly Walker Walkathon:
Actual Distance: 4.78 km
Time: 39 minutes and 16 seconds
Average Speed: 7.3 kph
Average Heart Rate: 138 bpm
Maximum Heart Rate: 178 bpm during the final sprint, where he reached speeds of 20-26 kph!
The theme for this race was “Sprinting Through the Pain,” and Bob’s performance was inspiring, showcasing his dedication and resilience.

September 21st – Community Run, Alexandria:
Distance: 5.08 km
Moving Time: 39 minutes and 59 seconds
Average Speed: 7.6 kph
Maximum Speed: 11.7 kph
Heart Rate: Average 152 bpm, Max 184 bpm (the highest in two years at 74!)
These stats reflect Bob’s best results since the crash on April 25th. While he’s still dealing with shin pain, he continues to push through. Bob is actively working on understanding the source of this pain, suspecting that a difference in leg length may be contributing to strain on his right hip.
Additionally, there is a virtual run event coming up, during which Bob will present the 'Pommier Jewellers' pendant to Nadia Periard. This special moment will highlight the spirit of dedication and perseverance that the event embodies.
Bob remains determined to race walk through the pain, focusing on recovery and improvement. We’re waiting for the official Sport Stats results, but the progress is undeniable!
Stay tuned for more updates as Bob continues his journey in walker racing!
