Update from the Race Weekend

Well, folks, it turns out I'm really good at the whole "race to the couch" thing!
Despite my best intentions to rock the Ottawa Race Weekend on Saturday, May 25th, my body decided to stage a protest. Between a stubborn cough and shin splint that made walking feel more like tap dancing on Legos, I opted for the sidelines
But fear not! The fundraising spirit is alive and well. I'm dusting off the pledge forms and keeping the donations rolling in until the end of June - let's keep the support coming!
Now, on to the road to recovery!
With a strategic blend of rest, gentle exercise, a little help from my medical team, and maybe some secret ancient oriental remedies, I'm geared up for a comeback. Starting small with today's "light stroll" around the block (0.45 km in a breezy 6.08 minutes - no need to break any land speed records just yet! 🐢).
Looking ahead, the rest of 2024 is shaping up to be a whirlwind! From the Canadian Transplant Games in August to a special cameo at the Ottawa Army Run in September, and even a choice betweenthe Toronto Waterfront Marathon or Lachine half marathon in October, it's all systems go!
And let's not forget the highlight of my speaking calendar for this year - a prestigious gig at the Rotary Club in Cornwall come November (You can contact me for speaking engagements
And finally, who could resist a festive finish to the year with the Santa Shuffle in December? 🎅
Stay tuned, folks - this walker's got a lot more left in the tank!
